History of Batak Script

The Batak script, or  surat Batak , is sometimes used to write the Batak languages, which are spoken in the north of Sumatra in Indonesia. Traditionally the Batak script was only used by  datu  (priests), and they used it to write magical texts and calendars. Batak is thought to be a descendent of the Pallava and Old Kawi scripts, which ultimately were derived from the  Brahmi  script of ancient India. Or it might be a descendent of a hypothetical Proto-Sumatran script, with Pallava influences. After Europeans - first German missionaries, then the Dutch - began visiting Batak-speaking areas from 1878 the Batak script was taught in schools, along with the Roman alphabet, and teaching and religious material was published in the script. ojek/becak Siantar

Salah satu yang unik dari Sumatera Utara, khususnya daerah Siantar, adalah  ojek sepeda motor . Namun, di tempat ini, motor yang dipakai dilengkapi dengan sespan yang relatif besar, sehingga bisa memuat lebih banyak orang. Di Siantar, ada ojek terkenal yang dikenal dengan sebutan Becak Siantar. Satu kekhasan moda transportasi ini adalah ia menggunakan sepeda motor merek BSA atau Birmingham Small Arm, motor besar tua bermesin 350 cc hingga 500 cc. Saking khasnya, satu unit motor ini disimpan di Museum T.B. Silalahi Center, yang terletak Desa Pagar Batu, Kecamatan Balige, Kabupaten Toba Samosir, Sumatera Utara, sebagaimana yang terlihat pada foto. Ada cerita tersendiri mengapa motor ini bisa sampai menjadi moda transportasi khas. Dalam keterangan yang menyertai motor yang dipajang itu, disebutkan bahwa pada 1950-an banyak rongsokan BSA yang tak terpakai di berbagai sudut kota. Alasan Mengapa Remaja Saat Ini Menyukai Dra-Kor

Beberapa remaja, terutama remaja cewek, doyan banget nonton drama Korea. Meskipun masih ada beberapa remaja yang suka nonton sinetron Indonesia, tapi tetep aja yang lebih kental sama selera mereka itu ya drama Korea. K-Drama. Nggak sedikit remaja Indonesia yang bahkan menghina sinetron buatan negara sendiri, membanding-bandingkannya dengan beberapa drama Korea, dan akhirnya langsung memaki dan kesal begitu tahu ada sinetron yang menjiplak drama Korea. Sebenarnya kenapa sih drama Korea banyak diminati cewek-cewek? Kenapa sih banyak remaja yang sebegitu ngefansnya sama drama Korea? Menurut pengamatan saya, ada beberapa alasan yang membuat drama Korea lebih menarik untuk ditonton dibandingkan sinetron Indonesia. 1.
